The benefits of light and frequent top dressing are undeniable. Applications can be completed on the average green in less than two minutes each. For the club it means never having to shut down the course or eliminate rounds. For golfers the impact of the application is barely noticeable and often results in immediately improving green speed.

The ProPass 180 is a low impact broadcast-type top dresser suitable for regular treatment of all quality fine turf surfaces.

Available in trailed and truck-mounted versions (and convertible from one to the other), the ProPass 180 has a hopper capacity of 18 cu ft (0.5 cu m), sufficient for light dressing of up to four golf greens. Built to apply the lowest possible downforce onto fine turf, the trailed version of the ProPass 180 is supported by a four-wheel walking beam suspension which helps spread the load evenly across the surface.

The truck-mounted version is suitable for use with the Toro Workman and John Deere ProGator.

The ProPass 180 has carefully-angled twin rear spinners fed by a moving belt to give a consistently even spread of materials at bout widths adjustable from 4.5m to 9m (15ft - 30ft) depending on the turning speed of the spinners. The smooth internal feed belt on the ProPass provides superior delivery and balanced distribution of the load while being easy to clean.

Depth of spread can be varied by adjusting the floor belt's hydraulic speed control, or by opening or closing the adjustable tailgate, or by driving faster or slower. Using a combination of all three enables very fine control to be achieved over application rates and the depth of dressings applied.

As an alternative to twin rear spinners, Turfmech now offers a quick-attach vortex brush spreading option designed for medium to heavy applications of a wide variety of materials over a maximum spread width of 2.13m (7ft).

This high performance top dresser is suitable for precision work on golf greens and fairways, sports grounds, playing fields and other regularly-maintained fine turf areas.

The QuickPass 300 has four-wheel independent walking beam suspension designed to maintain full ground contact across even and undulating turf. Wide flotation tyres help minimise the risk of turf marking and compaction.

Customers can choose a quick-attach spreading option (see specifications below), fed by a seamless moving-belt floor via an adjustable rear metering gate.

The mechanism can be easily adjusted to suit different materials and application rates.

The 3 cu m (4 cu yd) capacity MH-400 is a true multi-purpose materials handling unit which has to be seen in action to truly appreciate the time, labour and cost savings it can bring to grounds maintenance and landscaping operations.

In standard form, the MH-400's moving belt floor conveyor and hydraulically-raised rear end make short work of refilling top dressers, utility vehicles and spreaders, with flow rate controlled through the hydraulically-adjustable tailgate. The MH400 can also deliver materials straight onto the ground for use in construction, maintenance and renovation projects.

For more specialist jobs, the MH-400 can be fitted with a reversible rear cross conveyor for rapid refilling of bunkers, for back-filling drainage trenches or placing wood chippings or mulch onto pathways and borders. For even greater versatility, a swivel kit option allows the cross conveyor to be moved freely through a 180 degree arc at the rear of the machine or be locked in any one of five positions. Need to apply sand, top dressings, salt, gypsum or lime across large open areas? Fit the twin spinner option to the rear of the MH-400 and damp or dry materials can be spread accurately and evenly across widths from 4.6m to 12m (15ft - 40ft) at a depth of to 6.3mm (1/4in).

Towed and hydraulically powered by a tractor producing 30hp or more, the MH-400 has Ty-Crop's famed four wheel walking beam suspension and flotation tyres for optimum stability and minimum compaction.

Self-propelled model

The SAB125H is a self-propelled pedestrian controlled top dresser ideal for top dressing of sensitive and awkward areas. Carried on three wheels (two driven, one steered), the machine offers exceptional manoeuvrability, enabling it to reach all areas without shunting, surface scuffing or running over previously applied dressings. Powered by an 11hp petrol engine, with hydrostatic drive to the wheels, the SAB125H has a load capacity of 400 litres (0.4 cu m/0.52 cu yd) and a spread width of 1.25m (50in).
